After submitting this score to a competition, he never heard about the competition nor his symphony again. Later the score was rediscovered at an antiquarian's in Leipzig, amazingly also called Dvorák. For both it is a shame that the score never was handed back, because Dvorák said he would be happy even to pay large amounts of money to get it back.
